Hi, I am Philip Maghen, a junior at Emory University. I am a psychology major and am following the track of Pre-Medicine at the same time. My topics of interest in general are Psychology and Human Behavior, Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Theology. I used to play Ping-Pong semi-professionally throughout high school, and am decent at playing the piano.
I grew up in the country of Iran up until my junior year of high school; then, moved to Austria and ultimately America. I went to Walton High School for the last year and a half of high school where I got interested in physical sciences and math. I spent the first 2 years of college at Oxford College of Emory University where I worked as a librarian. The summer after my freshman year I worked at McDonald’s and the summer after my sophomore year I worked at Marcus Autism Center, and Georgia Refugee Health and Mental Health.
This year, I am working at Emory’s Children’s Hospital on a project related to Sickle Cell Disease where we are trying to design a web based decision aid tool in order to facilitate the process of decision making for sickle cell patients.
